Greek life holds free Halloween Carnival for safe trick-or-treating alternative
Ashamed cows, ninjas, bumblebees, celebrities and princesses invaded the Greek Halloween Carnival for spooky games and colorful sweets.
About 100 families attended the Greek Halloween Carnival Monday evening. The carnival began at 5 p.m., but families didn’t off to show up until about 6:30 p.m., said Marie Robles, Order of Omega president.

Ginny Hensley, kingpin of alumni planning, said this event is the kickoff to homecoming in Bowling Rural.
“It truly is a tradition every year, it’s for the downtown Bowling Green Community and for students, personnel, staff—everybody,” Hensley said.
Sigma Gamma Rho Hazing Scandal
Sigma Gamma Rho has been getting patriotic publicity lately, but quite not the kind-hearted the sorority wants for its assembling. In January, six Sigma Gamma Rho members from Rutgers University were arrested after a hock accused them of top-hole her 200 times with a block-headed beat, sending her to the sanitarium. And in August, a former San Jose Claim University pupil filed a lawsuit claiming that she was violently beaten with ungainly paddles and spoons by Sigma Gamma Rho members in 2008. She says that the university and sorority were negligent in responding to her allegations of hazing. The Rutgers and San Jose Say chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho have been suspended for these hazing violations. They're not the only ones -- the University of Texas chapter has also been suspended for almost identical violations. It should be esteemed that the sorority's Web locate has a very understandably stated anti-hazing management and is brilliant to act when these violations come to. But anyone who has been to college knows that brutish private hazing is a lot bigger than a few unfrequented incidents at a few schools. Far more people seem to be complacent about this, or even accepting about it, than inverted about it. What gives?
