Sigma Gamma Rho Hazing Scandal

Sigma Gamma Rho has been getting civil heed lately, but to all intents not the feather the sorority wants for its confederation. In January, six Sigma Gamma Rho members from Rutgers University were arrested after a vow accused them of stupendous her 200 times with a tiny-minded wade, sending her to the dispensary. And in August, a former San Jose State of affairs University admirer filed a lawsuit claiming that she was violently beaten with dead paddles and spoons by Sigma Gamma Rho members in 2008. She says that the university and sorority were negligent in responding to her allegations of hazing. The Rutgers and San Jose Declare chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho have been suspended for these hazing violations. They're not the only ones -- the University of Texas chapter has also been suspended for compare favourably with violations. It should be distinguished that the sorority's Web area has a very plainly stated anti-hazing method and is energetic to act when these violations come to pass. But anyone who has been to college knows that savage radical hazing is a lot bigger than a few off the beaten track incidents at a few schools. Far more people seem to be complacent about this, or even accepting about it, than queasy about it. What gives?

Pledge Courteny Howard Claims Black Sorority Sigma Gamma Rho Beat ...

In the San Jose Shape victim, Courtney Howard, a former grind at the university, charged in a proper lawsuit, filed Aug. 31, that over a three-week time in 2008 she was subjected to progressively more impetuous hazing from Sigma Gamma Rho members. Ms. Howard claims in her skirt that they blend her and other pledges with dull paddles, slapped them with clumsy spoons, shoved them against the be ruined, and threatened that “snitches get stitches.”
