 Created a lass furor when it posted a faux article, “Study Finds Every Configuration of Parenting Produces Disturbed, Miserable Adults.”  According to Yahoo! the Edda created “real confusion” when people in Santa Rosa did not aware the study, supposedly conducted by local researchers,  did not actually along.  While the mix-up is amusing, real confusion does exist about what is scientifically known about issue-rearing.

According to The Onion, a researcher named Daniel Attendant at the California Parenting Institute (which does exist) said, "Our research suggests that while overprotective parenting at the last produces adults unprepared to contend with life's difficulties, highly admit parenting leads to feelings of bitterness and isolation throughout adulthood. And, interestingly, we found that anything between those two extremes is equally damaging, always resulting in an adult who suffers from some debilitating organization of unpreparedness and isolation. Despite great variance in parenting styles across populations, the end product is always the same: A greatly flawed and joyless human being." I can see how anyone who has parenting experience would find a kernel of truth in The Onion's faux swatting. For one thing, it can seem that no matter what you do, your offspring thwart your best intentions, efforts and hopes for their subsequent. They are particularly active in that regard during the dreaded teen years when they would rather crawl through Hades in petroleum knickers than hark to to you or follow your rules. But I don't believe every adult on this Earth ends up joyless and dysfunctional, though our fellowship certainly fosters unhappiness with its overemphasis on fame and materialism. We're awash in antidepressant medications as well as assorted phobias that may be a byproduct of the (too much) low-down age. But that's just my two cents. It seems to me that how well kids ultimately navigate the world and life's kicks in the shins depends on their See native temperaments as well as the way they are brought up. There's no shortage of parenting advice out there, and we all tend to raise our kids based, to a step by step plus or minus, on the way we ourselves were raised. The one consistently crucial factor is a parent's attraction and concern. Your children may say you're a meddling old fool, but they still need to know you care. That acquaintance matters for a lifetime.
