President Mahinda Rajapakse who is on an valid visit to china inspected the infinity tea centre in Beijing today. Infinity Tea Focus is a major tea centre in China with 22 branches throughout the country and it distributes tea imported only from Sri Lanka.

This morning my compeer Kemo, the cultural resources person in the science office, decided to float with us to a village to interview elders. As we turned up the steep road, two older women popped into sight. Kemo without delay had the driver stop; she and I jumped out of the car and climbed into the truck bed. Another five minutes down the road, we picked up two more women. Xenna and our team-mate joined us in the back. Bumping along in the bed of the pickup, I thought about the rich cultural interactions I so regularly have here.
